Hey y’all. Welcome to Fast Facts for Gen Z. I’m your host, Callie, and I don’t know anything about anything. Come with me while I explore the world, and I’ll tell you everything you ever, and never, wanted to know, through the eyes of Gen Z.

Today’s episode: a life update, the end of season 1, and the announcement of season 2 of Fast Facts for Gen Z.

I have officially graduated from high school! My graduation ceremony was held outside on my school’s football field on a very warm Saturday morning. It was short and sweet! A few students smuggled in beach balls and started tossing them around, which was stressful until the superintendent picked one up and tossed it into the crowd. Then it was fun. Nobody fell down. We absolutely did not do anything that we were supposed to do. We didn’t stand up when we should have, we didn’t sit down altogether, we didn’t file out nicely as the band played Pomp and Circumstance for the twentieth straight minute. And that was fine. We did it, and then it was over. Good for us.

The actual point of this episode is to announce and explain the end of season 1. Since summer has started and I’ve returned to work at camp, my brain has been full of nothing but that. I simply do not have a podcast’s worth of thoughts about anything else. While I could talk about camp for hours on end, that’s not necessarily the point of the podcast. So I’m going to end season 1 here, almost one full year after the start, and regroup. Maybe commission music! Maybe do new art! Maybe learn better editing! Rebrand a little! I still have a lot of ideas for the podcast, but most of them are those types of maintenance things, not episode ideas. I’ll take some time to let my actual episode ideas build up and develop, improve the quality of the show, and be back when my brain is full of thoughts ready to share. I don’t want to say when I’ll be back, because realistically, I have no clue, but my estimate is September. Season 2, tentatively coming September 2021.

Thank you for listening to season 1 of Fast Facts for Gen Z. If you have any ideas, comments, or feedback, feel free to tweet me @FastFactsPod, and be sure to follow this podcast wherever you listen so you get notified when I make my grand return. It’s been fun, y’all. This is Callie, signing off.
